Shareholder
Richard is a 1964 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He joined the firm in 1964 and was admitted as shareholder in 1970.
Richard has various experience in accounting, auditing and management services for a diverse group of clients. He developed and helped implement the firms first written standards for the quality control of its audit services. He works with numerous clients in tax and financial planning and tax return preparation.
Richard is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public
Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served
on several committees of these organizations. He is listed in Who’s Who
in America and has been honored by the Decatur Jaycees as "Boss of the
Year."
Richard and his wife, Anita, enjoy spending time with their
grandchildren and are very involved at Beltline Church of Christ, where
Anita is a bible school teacher and Richard is the deacon over finance
and serves on the mission committee. He is an avid Alabama football fan
and enjoys any activity involving his grandchildren. Richard has held
various offices and served many civic organizations and youth groups,
including the Decatur Lions Club, Cub Scouts, Austin Band Boosters,
Calhoun Twister Gymnastics, Brookhaven PTA, Decatur Boy’s Club and
Dixie Youth Baseball. He also served as a Sergeant in the United States
Army Reserve. In his spare time he enjoys genealogy, photography and
reading.
